Shipping and returns

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards.

Will my payment be secure?

SK Filson uses Stripe as its payment gateway. Stripe is certified as a Level 1 Service Provider, which is the highest level of certification for payment processors.

Stripe complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), a set of security standards established by major card brands including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

What is the cost of delivery?

Standard UK delivery is £5.95. Orders over £100 receive free delivery.

We can ship to mainland Europe as well; rates are shown at checkout. For all other regions, contact us and we will advise accordingly.

Please note: we strongly advise that you do not book tradespeople until your goods have arrived and been inspected. We will not cover consequential costs (including tradesperson cancellation charges) arising from delivery delays.

Do you allow delivery to an address other than my own?

Yes. You can select an alternative delivery address, but the parcel needs to be signed for.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery within the UK mainland is typically 3-5 working days. If delivery is going to take longer than 5 working days, you will be notified by email.

How do I know if my order has been received?

You will receive a confirmation email.

Can I return non-faulty wallpaper?

If you are not completely satisfied you may return the product at your own cost, within 14 days after receipt of your order, undamaged and in the original packaging for a full refund. If a product has been made individually to your specification, these rights to return do not apply unless the product is faulty. These provisions do not affect your statutory rights.

Orders for UK and all other countries should be returned to:

ST Murphy : RE SK Filson Unit 9, Duttons Way Shadsworth Business Park Blackburn BB1 2QR

Overseas customers must include all UK customs clearance formalities. When returning goods, email sales@skfilson.com with your order number, date of receipt, the reason for returning, and whether you would like a refund or a replacement.

If the wallpaper is faulty, what is your returns policy?

In the event of a fault, please return the product to us with the labels. It should not be necessary to return all of the faulty product. Check all wallpaper for faults before and during hanging. Carefully examine the first 2 or 3 lengths on the wall. If you are in any doubt, stop work immediately and contact us. If the product is defective, a full replacement or refund will be made at no charge.

First email sales@skfilson.com, as it may not be necessary to return the wallpaper. Include your docket number, date of receipt, details of the fault, and whether you would like a refund or a replacement.

Will my parcel be charged customs and import charges?

If you live outside the UK you may be charged additional handling fees, customs duties, or other taxes as your order passes through customs. Any charges on a parcel must be paid by the person receiving it (this also applies to retail and wholesale customers) and are therefore your responsibility.

SK Filson has no control over these charges, and we cannot tell you what the cost would be, as customs policies and import duties vary widely from country to country. We recommend contacting your local customs office for current charges before you order.

What paste should I use on my wallpaper?

Different wallpapers require different paste. In general we recommend a good quality ready-mixed or powder adhesive. If you have questions, email info@skfilson.com.

What size are the wallpaper samples?

We provide an A5/A4 sized sample. These can be added to your cart with the Add sample button on product pages.

What size is a roll of wallpaper?

Most of our wallpapers are standard sizes, approximately 52 cm wide and 10 m long. Email info@skfilson.com if you have further questions.

What does the pattern match on my wallpaper mean?

Wallpaper is printed on rollers, so every design has a repeat. On a plain or striped wallpaper the repeat may not matter in practice.

Common pattern repeats include:

  • Straight match: the pattern matches across the width. The label states how often the pattern repeats (for example 53 cm).
  • Offset match (half drop): the match is obtained by halving the repeat. A label might state a 53/26.5 cm offset match: the design repeats every 53 cm, and the left-to-right match point is every 26.5 cm.
  • Free match: no matching is required. Strips can be hung without worrying about visible joins, which also reduces wastage.
If I have not ordered enough wallpaper, can you match a batch number for me?

Yes. When you place an order, you can request a batch number on your basket page and give us details of the exact batch you require.

What is a batch number?

Wallpaper is printed in batches of rolls. It is important to have the same batch number so colours match exactly. The batch number is usually on the wallpaper label near the pattern number. Batch numbers also apply to white wallpapers, as different batches can be different shades of white.

I've never hung wallpaper before. Can I get some advice?

Yes. Email info@skfilson.com with details of your room and paper, or use our contact form. We also recommend lining paper for a better finish if you are new to hanging.

Do I have to use lining paper?

Lining paper gives a sound base for hanging wallpaper and disguises minor imperfections in the wall, so we always recommend it. It is especially helpful if you are new to wallpaper hanging. Use the same adhesive for your lining paper as for your top paper.

If you are using a paste-the-wallpaper product, use a paste-the-wall lining paper. Cross lining means hanging lining paper horizontally to give an even finish when the top wallpaper is hung over it.

Do you charge VAT on wallpaper?

Yes. All prices are inclusive of VAT. Our company VAT number is 212629235.
